Project Title:
Bardstown North Side Interconnect

Project Description:
The proposed project will construct a new interconnect with North Nelson Water District (WX21179036) to provide greater supply and distribution of potable water in the northern section of Bardstown. Residential, commercial and industrial demand has made availability in the northern section of Bardstown and southern North Nelson difficult to supply with present feeds from Bardstown. The interconnection will include approx. 4,300 lf. of 20-inch ductile iron pipe, associated appurtenances (valves, hydrants, connections) along the Hwy 245 corridor to connect to a new feed from North Nelson / Louisville Water Co.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The northern section of the City of Bardstown has seen rapid residential, commercial, and industrial growth in the recent past. Demand and peak demand has stretched supply availability in this end of the City. Additional supply will be available from Louisville Water Co. through a new connection with North Nelson Water District.

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
