Project Title:
City of Versailles - Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation - Phase 2

Project Description:
Project includes the rehabilitation of the sanitary sewers in Basins 1, 5, and 6 of the Versailles Municipal Wastewater system. More specifically the area that will be rehabilitated in Basin 1 includes the sewers between Huntertown Road and Lexington Street bounded on the east by Eureka Drive and Roan Road. The area within basins 5 and 6 include sewers within the central part of the wastewater collection system. The area within Basin 5 that will be rehabilitated includes the sewers north of Lexington Street, bounded on the east by Preston Court, on the north by US 60 and on the west by Shaw Avenue. The area within Basin 6 that will be rehabilitated includes the sewers in the very central part of town between Lawrenceburg Road and Huntertown Road.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Work in this project will help The City of Versailles achieve compliance with an Agreed Order by reducing the amount of I&I to the system thereby reducing the number of SSOs that occur.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
