Project Title:
Yellow Creek Waterline Replacement

Project Description:
THIS PROJECT IS COMBINED WITH SX21091019 AND WILL BE APPLIED FOR UNDER THE SAME FUND C LOAN UNDER THIS SX NUMBER. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROFILE IS TO FULFILL MAPPING NEEDS IN THE WRIS. 300 LF of 8" waterline will need to be added at the Yellow Creek. This addition to create redundancy will require boring underneath the creek to extend 8" HDP that will be connected at both sides of the creek. In the event the cast main were to fail, having the line connected at both ends will allow the City of Lewisport to valve off the failed line and utilize the new line only.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
If the cast main were to fail currently it would leave 400 customers within the Lewisport system without drinking water and without adequate fire protection. The City of Lewisport plans to raise rates to cover debt coverage once the FY 2021 budget is passed.

An alternative to the HDP pipe installation at Yellow Creek would be no action, causing the current 8" cast iron line to snap and leaving approximately 400 customers without drinking water or adequate fire protection.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:
