Project Title:
Versailles Raw Water Main Replacement

Project Description:
The project consist of replacing the two raw water mains ( 12" and 24") that run along the KY River bank due to recent slope failures that have exposed the mains. Both mains will be replaced with 30" ductile iron (DI). The proposed raw water main would run up the hill closer to the existing raw water stations and then cross country to the water treatment plant. Also to be included is the replacement of the existing electrical conduit that carries the fiber optic line from the water treatment plant to the raw water station. Additionally, approximately 2,200 LF of 3" DI water main will be installed alongside the proposed 30" DI raw water main. The 3" main will transport potable water from the water treatment plant to the raw water pump station.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Flooding in the Kentucky River has caused the bank of the river which supports the raw water mains to begin to fail. These failures have exposed the raw water mains and electrical conduit. The river bank continues to produce failure scarps along the river bank which could cause a slide/slope failure that has the potential of breaking one or both of the raw water mains. Additionally, the "Ultra-Violet Disinfection and Improvements At The Wastewater Treatment Plant" part of the project will remove the hazardous material chlorine from the WWTP located in a highly populated area of town.

Water Efficiency:
