Project Title:
North Fork of Kentucky River Raw Water Intake

Project Description:
This project will create a new raw water source for the City of Campton from the North Fork of Kentucky River near the community of Bethany and transport the water to the City of Campton Water Treatment Plant. The Project will include the construction of a raw water intake structure with pumps, two pump stations, (17) 12" D.I.M.J gate valves & box, (10) combination air release valves and 58,000 LF of water line and appurtenances.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The City of Campton currently has the design capacity to treat 1 MGD at the existing Water Treatment Plant but is only permitted to withdraw 300,000 GPD from the current source, and during dry seasons Campton Lake experiences low levels that threaten the City's water supply. The new water intake structure will allow the City to use the existing treatment plant at the design capacity by adding 700,000 GPD from the North Fork of the Kentucky River and will serve as a reliable source of raw water during seasons of drought.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
