GAC Contactor Tank

Project Description:
This project will retrofit the existing Water Treatment Plant with a new Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Contactor Tank.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The City of Morganfield is being proactive with removal of PFAS and and other emerging chemicals from treated drinking water. The GAC will help remove other organic chemicals, odor, tastes and disinfectants from drinking water. Currently, GAC is one of the leading technologies for removal of PFAS.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:
