Project Title:
Russell Springs Booster Pump Station Improvements

Project Description:
The City of Russell Springs is seeking funding in order to modify the existing Airport Road Pump Station. Russell Springs Sewer and Water Works serves 4,538 residential households as well as 438 business/industrial customers. The project will allow the city to provide a reliable water supply for its existing customers. The main pump station currently runs 20-22 hours per day at a rate of 900 gpm and cannot keep up with increasing demands due to customer growth. The project will consist of (2) new pumps, variable frequency drives, controls, and appurtenances.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This project will benefit 4,538 residential households and 438 commercial customers who are served by the City of Russell Springs' Sewer and Water Works. This project will allow the City to keep up with customer demand and keep their water storage tanks full for the required one-day storage. City of Russell Springs also aids regionally by selling water to Columbia Adair Utilities District and Western Pulaski Water District, as well as East Casey Water District as needed.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
