Project Title:
Eastern Light Distilling Water Project

Project Description:
Morehead Utility Plant Board intends to replace existing 6-inch, and 8-inch water line located from the intersection of Eagle Drive and Rodney Hitch Blvd to the Eastern Light Distillery Development Site, with 5600 linear feet (LF) section of 12-inch water line. The waterline extension will enhance water distribution capabilities and support the need of the new distillery and future developments. In addition to the 5600 linear feet (LF) of 12-inch water line, the project will also include all necessary appetences to complete installation. The project will involve trenching along existing county roadway and at least two road bores. This project will have a companion sewer project that will be providing a sewer line upgrade as well to the distillery site area.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The increased water line size will provide improved water quality for customers along the service area. The project will also provide development opportunities and future job growth.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
