Project Title:
Perry County Water & Sewer - Lead Service Line Inventory

Project Description:
This project is for the utility to conduct a Lead Service Line Inventory per requirements under 40 CFR 141.84. The project will allow the utility to contract with an engineer or consulting firm to conduct the inventory for them as the utility does not have the available manpower to do so themselves. The project will also provide the purchase of a GPS unit and a tablet to allow the system to document lead service lines if any are found in the system.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The new Lead and Copper Rule Revisions which became effective December 16, 2021, require systems to conduct an inventory of the service lines in their distribution system to determine if lead is present. These inventories must be completed by October 16, 2024. Perry County Water & Sewer is a small system located in Perry County, KY with a poverty level of 20.2%. The County has been listed as economically distressed by various federal agencies. The system does not have the staff or resources to conduct this inventory without assistance.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
