Project Title:
City of Bloomfield Water Standpipe Replacement Project

Project Description:
The proposed project includes the development and construction of a new 500,000-gallon elevated water storage facility. This tank will replace an existing 300,000-gallon storage tank that is over 30 years old and has structural intergrity and maintenance issues.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Project will replace a standpipe storage tank that is inadequate due to age. A new tank will provide more stable high pressure in the system and help meet safe drinking water standards. Currently, parts of the system are challenged to provide consistent pressure due to the height and size of the existing standpipe. Replacement with an elevated tank at the same height as the operating elevation of the rest of the system will allow significant improvement in capacity, turnover, and pressure. Filling process will improve turnover in the new tank as well.
