Project Title:
Meter Change-Out Project

Project Description:
This proposed project offers a solution for replacing all of the District’s meters with new radio-read meters. These meters will be compatible with the District’s current reading system and billing software. Additionally, the improvement will give all customers access to an iCloud based portal to self-monitor consumption, similar to features provided by other utilities (power, phone, etc). The work would be self-performed by utility staff, and the total cost of the proposed project is estimated to be $120,000. If funds allow, additional improvements will include the replacement of worn out meter setters, brass nipples, and damaged meter box and/or lids plus computer upgrades, which allow the District to monitor readings from the office by accessing the iCloud data.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Presently, the District’s biggest problems or needs are in three parts: 1) replacing water meters to be in compliance with their 10-year change out program; 2) re-painting and maintenance of their nearly 20 year old elevated water tank; and 3) replacement of short distribution lines that were originally built with an inferior PVC material that has become brittle and problem-plagued to the water system. Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:
