Project Title:
Grand Rivers - Waterline Replacement & AMR System

Project Description:
This project will replace 2,100 LF of 6” Cast Iron Pipe with new PVC along Hwy 952 (J.H. O’Bryan). The water line will also include a 4” PVC tie in to create a loop at Terrace Ln. and replacing 8 6“ valves and 4 4” valves, 3 fire hydrants, and all needed parts. The project will also include replacing all service lines and meter sets, approximately 18. The project will alleviate continual water line breaks in an area where the depth of the existing line is too deep to be safe to repair without shoring boxes and large excavating equipment. In addition, the project will also replace all residential meters with radio read meters and leak detection with all new software and hardware. The project also includes rehabilitating the city's water tank by painting the interior of the tank and installing a new mixing system.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The city is experiencing line breaks and the pipe is too deep to safely repair without large equipment. The AMR portion of the project will replace several old meters which will allow the utility to know the cost of reading meters for approximately 20 years. The new system will have advanced leak detection included which will help build revenues.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
