Project Title:
WCWD - Water Treatment Plant Improvements

Project Description:
This project will include painting and rehabilitating the existing Wood Creek Water District Regional Water Treatment Plant. Other project components include a new 100,000 gallon backwash settling basin, new sludge press, rehabilitation of existing sludge clarifier, various yard piping improvements, a new 7' security fence and various aesthetic improvements.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Painting and rehabilitation is necessary to improve operational aspects of treatment plant and reduce downtime for maintenance, therefore improving level of service to customers. Backwash basin and new sludge press will reduce the solids loading at the existing lagoon discharge point and reduce environmental impacts. A new security fence will replace the existing deteriorating fence, maintaining security and safety of drinking water facilities and treatment plant operators.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
