Project Title:
Push Back/Slick Rock Waterline Extensions

Project Description:
The Knott County Water & Sewer District proposes to construct waterline extensions to the area of Push Back Branch and Slick Roack Hollow. The project will include: Push Back Branch extension involves installation of approximately 4,385 LF of 2-inch and 4-inch HDPE DR11 waterlines, along with 2" and 4" horizontal directional bores, new service meters, 3/4" HDPE service tubing, 2" and 4" control valves, and flush hydrants as well as tie into the existing waterline. Restoration activities will include gravel, asphalt, and concrete replacement, as well as silt fencing. Slick Rock Hollow extension involves installing approximately 1,570 linear feet (LF) of 3-inch HDPE DR11 waterline with associated bores, service connections, 3/4" HDPE Service tubing, 3" control valves, and flush hydrants. Restoration activities will include gravel, asphalt, and concrete replacement, as well as silt fencing.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Many rural households in the Slick Rock Hollow and Push Back Branch areas of Knott County currently experience limited access to dependable public water service. Several residents rely on private wells, springs, or hauled water that are often unreliable, low-yielding, or contaminated—especially during dry seasons. Aging infrastructure and undersized waterlines in nearby service areas also result in low pressure, frequent leaks, and inconsistent service for existing customers.

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:
