Project Title:
Water Tanks & Pump Stations Security Enhancements

Project Description:
This security enhancement project will include the installation of automatic gates, scada upgrades, and transition of key locks to access control electric locks for the water tanks and pump stations in Kenton and Campbell county. The following Tanks and Pump stations will be receiving these enhancements Barrington Tank, Industrial Rd. Tank, Ida Spence Tank, Kenton Lands Rd. Tank, Lumley Tank, Main Street Tank, Rossford Tank, South Newport Tank, Memorial Parkway Reservoir Pump Station, and Richardson Road Pump Station.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The successful completion of this security enhancement project will ensure proper authorized personnel and authorized water district employees are the only persons with access to the water tanks and pump stations. This will aid support and collaboration between NKWD and local, state, and federal law enforcement including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), first responders, and other government officials in the event of a terrorist attack, as well as various other threats or emergencies that the community may face. NKWD provides a life sustaining resource, water, to approximately 300,000 people in 5 different counties including Campbell, Kenton, Boone, Grant and Pendleton. NKWD supplies water to residential customers.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
