Project Title:
Covington Private Lead Service Line Replacement

Project Description:
This project will provide full lead service line replacement in coordination with approximately 950 feet of water main replacement on W. 12th Street (W. Pike Street to Bullock Avenue) within the City of Covington. This water main has a high incidence of breakage. On this street, there are 42 customers that could potentially have lead service lines to be replaced. Any principal forgiveness loan funds not spent on this street would be used to pay for private lead service line replacement within the City of Covington or other areas in the system with priority given areas below the state MHI.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Reduce water main breaks, water loss, service disruptions, and to limit the amount of possible containments introduced into the system. Eliminates entire lead service line for customers included within the project limits.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
