Project Title:
Campbell and Kenton County Water Main Replacement and SCADA Impr

Project Description:
This project includes replacement of a 36" cross-country transmission main with a 24" main and SCADA improvements involving approximately 65 sites. The project will bid in phases: Phase 1 – REMOVED; Phase 2 - 36" Concrete Water Main Replacement for 2,600 ft of 36" transmission main with new 24" cross-county main in Kenton County; Phase 3 - REMOVED; and Phase 4 - SCADA Improvements in Campbell and Kenton Counties which will replace equipment for security and remote operation of the distribution system including programmable logic controllers, radio equipment, and sensors and water quality analyzers for approximately 65 sites with tanks, pump stations, or meter and regulator vaults.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The Phase 2 contract will replace a concrete transmission main that has failed multiple times in several locations totaling more than $300,000 in repairs. The main is currently isolated because of the high cost of the repair needed to put it back into service. This main serves as a key redundancy main that is important to the water supply of water to approximately 40% of the District's customers should the other transmission main be out of service for any reason. The Phase 4 contract will replace SCADA equipment and pressure sensors and analyzers that are becoming obsolete and are critical for monitoring the operation of storage tanks, pump stations, chlorine booster stations, and meter and regulator vaults remotely. The physical security of the structures and facilities and monitoring water quality and operation of the system is connected to and controlled by the SCADA system.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
