Project Title:
JCWA - Water Treatment Plant Improvements

Project Description:
The proposed project will include repainting the existing pipe gallery in the water treatment plant as well as any other general painting necessary to use all funds allocated to this project. If funds remain at the completion of the painting project, they will be expended on variable frequency drives for the high service pumps or additional equipment at the Water Treatment Plant, as well as to rehabilitate the existing Grassy Springs pump station. The rehabilitation will consist of replace all interior components in the existing building including piping, pumps, valves and electrical.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The water treatment plant is roughly 20 years old and has never been repainted since its completion. One set of high service pumps has a variable frequency drive, but the other set does not. Having these drives will decrease the amount of wear and tear on the pumps during startup and shutdown. The Grassy Springs pump station was modified in 1996 and its components have reached the end of their usable lives.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
