Project Title:
Cynthiana - Industrial Park Water Tank and WTP Upgrade

Project Description:
This project consists of a new 750,000 gallon elevated water storage tank to be located at the Cynthiana/Harrison County EDA Industrial Park including a new booster pump station. In addition, this project consists of updating the existing filter gallery valve actuation, replacement of failing or failed valves, installation of new UV disinfection units on the filter effluent, various instrumentation and electrical upgrades, and miscellaneous building improvements.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This project addresses multiple needs for the City of Cynthiana. The new tank and booster pump station will provide higher flow and pressures to new and existing industries at the Industrial Park. In addition, it will benefit customers served on the South and West Ends of Cynthiana's distribution system. Regarding the WTP, this project will provide operational efficiency and reliability to the existing water treatment plant by replacing aged valving and controls with current technology. The new UV units are needed for the WTP to comply with new Cryptosporidium treatment regulations.

Address water demand and pressure requirements at the Industrial Park on an individual basis.  However, this would be significantly more expensive.
