Project Title:
West End Water System Improvements

Project Description:
This project includes the replacement of 2200 feet of 4 inch main, 7800 feet of 6 inch main and 6200 feet of 8 inch main, and appurtenances in Cynthiana. These lines are in an older section of the city. All of these lines are more than 75 years old. These old lines have a large amount of Scale buildup in them. There are a large number of low income and minority families in this area and many of these streets do not have adequate fire protection. Old Lair road has 8 fire hydrants that have inadequate flow for fire protection.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
