Project Title:
Lewisport/EDCWA Emergency Interconnect

Project Description:
This project looks to extend the waterline along Frank Luttrell Road to create an emergency interconnect for Lewisport and ECDWA. The extension will be 2,914 LF of 3" PVC along Frank Luttrell Road to US 60. This new interconnection will be vastly important for both the City of Lewisport and EDCWA. Both of these systems have areas of customers that would be able to benefit from the installation of this new emergency interconnect.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Lewisport and ECDWA have areas that when shut down would have the chance to be fed from this interconnection. This is especially important since this interconnection would give both systems the ability to feed their schools which at times have to close due to lose of water

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
