Project Title:
City of Flatwoods New 250,000 Gallon Water Storage Tank

Project Description:
This project proposes to construct a new 250,000 gallon glass lined water storage tank with SCADA and a mixing system to serve the City of Flatwoods and secure an adequate water storage supply for the local schools and nursing homes. Security will be added to the tank site which will include fencing to enclose the tank and a locked gate.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This project is needed to ensure water supply to the Russell Intermediate School and the Flatwood's nursing home during water shortage events in the area. The area has experienced multiple water shortages in recent years and the City of Flatwoods was unable to purchase an adequate water supply from the vendors.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
