Project Title:
Albany - Water Treatment Plant A and B Backup Generators

Project Description:
The location of WTP-A and WTP-B are remote. Both plants are in close proximity to each other - within 200 yards. Both plants have separate power feeds. Both Water Treatment Plants continue to experience power reliability issues and with no backup generator at either plant this causes considerable problems given the demands on the plants and the capacity issues. These funds would be used to install two backup generators with Automatic Transfer Switches providing backup power for both WTP-A and WTP-B.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The existing Water Treatment Plants A & B are operating at full capacity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With the demands on the WTP's any interruption is treatment is a significant issue. Loss of power was a contributor to the two week water interruption experience in January and power interruption has cause Albany Water production problems multiple times since this January state of emergency.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
