Project Title:
Trapp Community & Morris Road Water Line Replacement

Project Description:
Replacement of approximately 4,800 linear feet (LF) of 10-inch waterline with new 6-inch waterline in the Trapp Community of Clark County. Replacement of approximately 17,500 LF of 6-inch waterline with new 8-inch waterline along Morris Road and KY 15 from Ecton Road to the existing KY 15 tank site. Installation of new meter settings and utility side service lines for approximately 50 existing customers. Installation of new flush hydrants, valves, and other necessary appurtenances to support waterline replacement.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The Trapp Community in Clark County is currently served with a 10-inch water main that was necessary at one time for a school that has since closed. As a result, an existing water storage tank has been taken offline and the 10-inch main is no longer capable of reaching flushing velocity creating a water quality challenge for the district. The proposed new main will be reduced to 6-inch diameter to correct this issue. Morris Road has an existing 6-inch waterline that is some of the oldest remaining water line in the ECCWD system. Frequent line breaks suggest this line is a candidate for replacement, this section of water line was previously included in another project that was not built, so it is being proposed for replacement now. By increasing diameter from 6-inch to 8-inch, flows from the existing Ecton Road Booster Pump Station (BPS) will increase, shortening tank fill times at the KY 15 tank.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
