Project Title:
Barnett Street Watermain Replacement

Project Description:
This project includes the replacement of an existing 4" cast iron watermain along Barnett Street in Hazel, KY. The project will extend from 3rd Street east to 1st Street. The purpose of the project is to replace an aged line that has a history of breaks and lows levels of service for our customers. The replacement of the existing service lines from the main to new meter settings will also be included in this project.

This watermain is an intensive source of maintenance for the Water District's staff, with a history of leaks and breaks.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
