Project Title:
Guthrie Wastewater System Evaluation & Improvement Project

Project Description:
Funds will be used or have been used to perform SSES work for the sewer system. The proposed improvements of the project will consist of 3 areas of work, with 2 being bid in separate contracts. The first area of the project will include the purchase of ~ 55 water-tight manhole frame & covers for various low lying locations, purchase of ~40 manhole plastic inserts for various manhole risers, and purchase of ~5 replacement manholes for the Spring Creek Trailer Park. All of these items (~<28,000) will be installed by City staff. The second portion of the project (Contract 1) will include pipe bursting of ~1,600 LF of 8” gravity sewer in the Green Acres Subdivision. This area consists of clay sewer, and video records confirm that it is a significant source of the City’s I&I problems. This contract of pipe bursting, point repairs and manhole repairs is estimated to cost ~$198,415. Contract 2 will include ~325 VFT of manhole grout lining, ~5 manhole point repairs or additions of sections, and ~50 pipeline point repairs. All of these improvements were identified as critical deficiencies in recent SSES inspections/videos, and the estimated cost of these improvements is ~$190,000. Guthrie is presently under an agreed order for various violations, and these projects will mitigate those issues.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
