Project Title:
Residential Grinder Unit Up Grade

Project Description:
Mountain Water District Intends to begin upgrading/replacing 222 of the 2,300 aging/out of warranty current residential grinder units with the newest, highest efficiency replacement grinder units compatible with the sewer force main system.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
By eliminating aging and out of warranty grinder units from the force main sewer system, less pump failure will occur, therefore reducing sewer overflow situations at resident's homes, preventign additional adverse impacts to the public health and curtailing the impact of discharge to the drainage and waterways.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
