Project Title:
Perkins/Crooked Creek Wet Weather Tank

Project Description:
The goal of this project is to capture excess wet weather flows near the intersection of the Crooked Creek and Perkins Creek sanitary sewer interceptors, eliminating an existing sanitary sewer overflow. Construction will include a 3.0 million gallon above ground concrete storage tank, associated site improvements, and infrastructure to convey wet weather flows to/from the proposed storage tank. Additional infrastructure will include: 5.0 million gallon a day (MGD) pump station, influent diversion structure, effluent flow control structure, approximately 400 linear feet of 24” sanitary sewer, and approximately 1,000 linear feet of 18” sanitary sewer. Electrical work and controls for the pump station and tank effluent flow control structure are also included. Site improvements will include necessary grading and a gravel access drive for site access.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The basic need is to eliminate a wet weather sanitary sewer overflow and achieve timely completion of the project in accordance with our sanitary sewer overflow plan and consent decree, CWA-04-2008-4756.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
