Project Title:
Trenton - Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Project

Project Description:
This project will rehabilitate or replace entirely the aging decrepit Trenton WWTP. The existing 125,000 GPD WWTP was built in 1967 and will require many improvements in order to meet DOW standards. The project will include a replacement of air drops in the aeration basin, an all new clarifier mechanism, and any steel components associated in the treatment process. All components of the new plant structures will be equipped with VFD's and the latest energy efficient standards. If the existing plant is rehabbed instead of replaced, a rental plant would be installed while all internal equipment in the existing WWTP is being renovated. Two new lift pumps of 180 GPM have already been replaced along with valves and piping and a new epoxy lining in the existing wet well with city funds/ Cleaner Water Grant Funds.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
