Project Title:
Mayfield-10th Street Lift Station and Sewer Line Rehab

Project Description:
The lift station that is located on 10th street has exceeded its intended design life, and the tributary gravity system has deteriorated to the point that inflow and infiltration are considered excessive during and shortly after rainfall events. The liftstation and force main needs to be replaced, and a combination of gravity sewer line replacement and cured-in-place gravity sewer rehabilitation should be implemented. This will also aid in consolidating service from several package plants with Mayfield.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This will enable Mayfield Electric and Water to pick up several package plants South of Mayfield. These plants are several years old, and consolidating them with Mayfield would help both the customers and the environment.

Continue to operate existing lift station and line, which have exceeded their intended life.  This may result in litigation, as overflow occurs when there is precipitation.

Attempt to repair equipment that has exceeded its useful life.  This is not considered a long term solution.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:

Energy efficiency is the use of improved technologies and practices to reduce the energy consumption of water projects, use energy in a more efficient way, and/or produce/utilize renewable energy. Examples include:
