Project Title:
City of Lancaster Sanitary Sewer Extension

Project Description:
The City seeks to construct 1,551 LF of 8-inch interceptor sewer, 1,781 LF of 10-inch interceptor sewer, 1,601 LF of 12-inch interceptor sewer, 10,575 LF of 12-inch force main, and one (1) major wastewater pumping station. One new industrial customer will be served. Three additional customers are expected shortly after this project is commissioned. The project will eliminate two aging and overloaded lift stations (Buckeye Pump Station and Hill Court Pump Station) and will decrease flow in an overloaded gravity line by re-routing flow to the new lift station. The project will not add any additional residential customers. 1. The Buckeye Lift Station and Hill Court Lift Station will be eliminated. 2. The project will unload an overloaded portion of the sewer system but re-routing flow from the Buckeye and Hill Court lift stations. It will not replace or rehabilitate any existing lines. 3. Neither SCADA nor VFDs will be added. None of the lines in the components should be listed as rehab.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The project will satisfy multiple goals: 1. Economic development. The 90 acre industrial park on the north end of town has no sanitary sewer service. This project will provide the infrastructure required to allow current park tenants to expand their project as well as provide an opportunity to serve new tenants. 2. Overloading. The existing wastewater collection system is overloaded. This project will divert wastewater from some of the more overloaded collectors in the system. 3. Aging infrastructure. The new pump station to be constructed by this project will allow the existing aging, overloaded Buckeye Lift Station and Hill Court lift stations to be taken offline.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:

Energy efficiency is the use of improved technologies and practices to reduce the energy consumption of water projects, use energy in a more efficient way, and/or produce/utilize renewable energy. Examples include:
