Information:
The Maps on this page are either Statewide, Regional (ADD), or County views and are based on the ongoing work by the WRIS GIS Staff and the Commonwealth's 15 Area Development Districts. For the most part, these maps deal with water and sewer system related issues being studied by the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority.

The vast majority of the maps are presented as Adobe Acrobat 4.0 files. A button at the bottom of this column is a direct link to Adobe's Free Acrobat Viewer Download Page. Additionally, it is recommended that you have the Macromedia Flash Plug-in installed for your browser.

Map Production Notes & Printing Hints:
The maps were generated using ARC/INFO Version 8.0.1 running on a Compaq/DEC 5300 AlphaServer. Arcplot AMLs were utilized to generate Adobe Postscript ASCII Text Files. These files were then utilized in Macromedia Freehand 8.0.1 on a Apple Macintosh G3 to create the final cartographic product. A HP DesignJet 2500CP/PS is utilized for hardcopy plotting. Adobe Acrobat 4.0 is utilized for PDF creation and web-based dissemination.

Base map information was obtained from KNREPC, KYTC, Kentucky's Area Development Districts, and the WRIS/KIA. All maps in this series are in a UTM Zone 16 NAD 27 projection.

It is our experience, that print quality is the best when output on a Postscript-based printer (either color or black & white). Also, use the "Fit-to-page" option in Acrobat Reader's print dialog box to force a larger map to a smaller page or the opposite.
