Water supply inadequacies during normal operating conditions:

During normal operations there really isn't any inadequacies.  We have 4 wells and a mine source.  So long as there isn't drought, we are usually ok.

Water supply inadequacies during drought operating conditions:

Since our wells and mine source are directly affected by drought, there have been times we haven't had the supply to meet the demand.  We compensate by putting river pumps in emergency situations.

Planning Comments:

We got our water loss down to extremely low numbers in comparison to previous years.  This has helped more than anything.  We are looking at putting a permanent river pump in to compensate during times of low flow.

It's been quite a while but over a year ago, we had outages that lasted for several weeks because of diminished water supply and drought coupled with massive water loss.

This system has periodic pump failures.

Cause(s):

This is kind of a loaded question.  Every plant will have pump failure eventually.  It's been a while but it's usually an impeller needing replaced or motor or combination of the two.  It's not something that happens regularly but occasionally it does happen.
