Project Title:
City of Clay City - 150,000 Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank

Project Description:
This project will construct a new 150,000 gallon elevated water storage tank to replace an existing 50,000 gallon elevated tank. The existing storage tank will be demolished and an existing pump station will be upgraded with new and more energy efficient pumps. The coordinates of the tank are as follows: 37° 54’ 55.43” N / 83° 54’ 41.46” W.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Growth in the area served by the exisiting tank has created a need for more water storage and increased pressure. The new tank will provide increased storage and better pressure. The upgraded pump station is necessary in order to fill the new tank. Improved fire protection will also be by-product of the project.

Elevating the existing 50,000 gallon water storage tank to provide additional pressure witout adequate fire protection.

Alternate B:

Do nothing and continue dealing with low pressures and inadequate storage. This project will also assist in relieving some inadequate fire protection issues.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
