Project Title:
MWD - Marrowbone to Ashcamp Connector / Marrowbone Service Line

Project Description:
The project consists of performing substantial and necessary repairs and upgrades to existing water main and water service lines throughout Mountain Water District’s service area in Pike County. It will eliminate three existing booster pumping stations and replace these three stations with a single new station. The three stations being eliminated have capacities of 23 gpm, 35, gpm and 40 gpm. The proposed booster pumping station will have a capacity of 250 gpm. SCADA included for the purpose of monitoring facilities in real time for more efficient operation of the system and data analytics that contribute to the reduction of water loss. Three water storage tanks will be decommissioned and replaced with a single water storage tank. The three tanks being decommissioned have capacities of 5,000 gallons, 6,000 gallons and 20,000 gallons. The proposed tank will have a capacity of 100,000 gallons Additionally, 14,000 LF of existing 6” line will be replaced with new 6” line. A total of 698 customer service lines will also be replaced.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Mountain Water District and the Public Service Commission are currently under agreement to reduce waterloss to 15%. This project’s intention is to make the necessary repairs related to compliance, minimize waterloss in the service area, and reduce Disinfection By-Products improving water quality. Additionally, the increased water capacity will have the greatest potential for attracting new businesses and industry into the area.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
