Project Title:
OCWD A/C Line Replacements Area 2

Project Description:
This project involves replacing 16,400 LF of existing A/C waterline with various diameters in Area 2 of the OCWD distribution system, generally West of Beaver Dam along US62 and within McHenry The approximate lengths of each diameter pipe in the area are outlined below: 3-inch \| 5,800 LF 4-inch \| 4,800LF 6-inch \| 3,700 LF 8-inch \| 2,100 LF Trenchless technology and low impact construction technology will be used in all possible areas for construction. All waterways will be crossed using horizontal directional drilling.

A/C pipe poses a long-term risk to water utilities and the communities they serve. The pipe to be replaced within this profile is at or near the end of its useful life.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:

This plan includes an asset inventory, strategic plan, and capital improvements plan that lay the groundwork for increasing capacity to serve growth areas while maintaining the systems and facilities they currently serve, balancing risk with the money they have available.
