College St. and Chestnut St. Water Lines

Project Description:
Project will create additional loops within the system by connecting an existing 6" water line that ends on S. College St. a 12" water main on the Harrodsburg Bypass. Additionally this project will replace old water lines that are under buildings and in inaccessible areas between College St. and Chestnut St.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The Project will increase reliability of the system and replace old deteriorating pipe which are the cause of leaks in the system.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
