Project Title:
City of Benton-Line Replacement Along Main Street

Project Description:
This project includes the replacement and upgrade of an existing 6-inch AC and cast iron water main from the Main Street/Poplar Street Wye north to 5th Avenue in Benton, KY. The replacement will consist of the installation of approximately 1 mile of 8-inch ductile iron water main. This project will eliminate an undersized water main that has been the source of multiple leaks and system outages. The second phase of this project will include the replacement of the existing water main from the wye south to the City's interconnect with the City of Hardin.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This project will reduce system operation and maintenance costs, and improve the level of service the City can provide to its' customers within the City limits of Benton. The project will also eliminate an AC main, which is prone to leaks.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
