Project Title:
Island New Water Storage Tank Project

Project Description:
THIS PROJECT IS REQUESTING P&D FUNDS. The City of Island's current water storage tank, constructed in 1968, is 150,000 gallons and has reached the end of its useful life. Planning and design funds including hydraulic modeling are needed to determine the best location for a new 150,000 Water Storage Tank - next to where it is currently located, or in the Fox Hollow area. The construction portion of this project will include demolition of the current tank and construction of a new 250,000 gallon tank where deemed most advantageous.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This tank provides service to all 483 connections in the City of Island so if it were to go out of service then water quality would be compromised for all customers.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
