Project Title:
Stearns to Smithtown Phase 1 - Water Line Replacements

Project Description:
The profile has been merged with profile WX21147015 (F17-010) for one loan package under KIA Drinking Water Loan F17-010. (DATE: 1/10/2017) Project entails the construction of approximately 13,600 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main and appurtenances to replace an existing 6-inch and 4-inch water line and replace approximately 13,900 LF of existing 2-inch water line with new 4-inch and 3-inch PVC water line to serve approximately 150 existing underserved users. The project also entails the reconnection of 150 existing customers to the new 8-inch, 4-inch, and 3-inch waterlines.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
Project entails construction of water main to provide water to current underserved users and system improvements to improve service to existing customers. Existing 6-inch, 4-inch, and 2-inch water lines are aging and undersized, and the deterioration of the water line has caused leaks and breaks over time.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
