Project Title:
City of Cynthiana West By-Pass Water Main Extension Project

Project Description:
The project consists of approximately 13,000 linear feet of 12-inch PVC water main that will parallel the new by-pass on the west side of the City. The 12-inch main will start at the existing 12-inch main located on KY32 and will run north along the new by-pass to KY 356 and then east along KY 356 to tie into the existing 16-inch main that feeds the Bundy Storage Tank. The new main will also run west along KY 356 and stop at the Harrison County Water Association Master Meter located near the entrance to White Oak Subdivision. The new main will also proceed north along the new by-pass and connect with a new 8'inch main that is being constructed to serve the new State Highway Garage. The interconnections will improve pressures and flows to the west side of the City and to the Harrison County Water Association.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This project, when connected to a proposed 1.0 million gallon elevated water storage tank on the west side, will allow the city to operate with two pressure zones. This will improve pressure/flows to the Industrial Park, White Oak Subdivision and Harrison County Water Association.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
