Project Title:
Morganfield Combined Sewer Separation Project - Phase II

Project Description:
This project is Phase II of the Morganfield Combined Sewer Separation Project. This project has a water portion that is detailed under WX21225014. This project will construct storm drainage and sanitary sewers along Main Street starting at the intersection of Morgan Street and Morton Streets and ending at O'Bannon Street. Also, there are two small sewer lines to be rehabbed coming off main street in Vinson Alley and an unnamed street. Since these lines are under the city streets, this project will relocate traffic for a time, will need to repair/replace city streets and sidewalks and will replace/relocate other utilities as they are needed to complete this project to separate the combined sewer system in Morganfield. This project is part of the city's combined sewer separation program mandated by the Division of Water. There is a water line relocation and stormwater construction portion to this project, as well.

The proposed project will be working towards eliminating the combined sewer system which the city is under agreed order to do.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:

Energy efficiency is the use of improved technologies and practices to reduce the energy consumption of water projects, use energy in a more efficient way, and/or produce/utilize renewable energy. Examples include:
