Project Title:
Mt. Olivet Phase 1 - Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

Project Description:
Phase 1 - Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade will address the immediate needs and operational issues that impact plant performance. Phase 1 includes the following improvements: install influent flow meter, install influent composite sampler, clean existing clarifiers and fine tune return sludge rate, add additional aeration capacity to the existing surge tank, convert existing diffusers from coarse bubble to fine bubble and utilize the existing post aeration tank as a chlorine contact basin.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The City of Mt. Olivet's existing wastewater treatment plant does not have sufficient capacity and is not capable of meeting the existing or any future requirements of their Kentucky Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (KPDES) permit. There are times the plant exceeds 100% of capacity.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
