Project Title:
Stanton - Sewer Service Area Expansion, Phase 3

Project Description:
Installation of approximately 2.7 miles of 8" gravity sewer, approximately 0.11 mile of force main, 40 residential grinder pumps, one small duplex pump station to provide sewer service to 103 homes. These homes were previously unsewered and are currently using either on site treatment or straight pipes. Total flow conservatively (250 gallons/household/day) estimated from these 103 homes is 25,750 gallons/day. Extending lines to collect the wastewater from these homes would collect and bring the wastewater to the City's existing collection system (proposed Phase 1 sx21197006) and ultimately flow to the Red River Wastewater Authority's (RRWWA) new treatment plant (KY0034428) providing both rationalization and a better level of treatment of wastewater, improving the waters of the Commonwealth.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
This project is necessary in order to meet requirements of the Clean Water Act and improve current treatment of wastewater that is now going into the environment untreated and under treated.

Provide residential connection through either a gravity connection or a residential grinder pump system for each house. Then all flow would be pumped/gravity flow directed to the RRWWA's treatment plant to be properly treated before being discharged to the environment.

Alternate B:

Do nothing and allow this wastewater to continue to flow into the waters of the Commonwealth untreated and under treated.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:

Energy efficiency is the use of improved technologies and practices to reduce the energy consumption of water projects, use energy in a more efficient way, and/or produce/utilize renewable energy. Examples include:
