Project Title:
Fordsville Wastewater System Improvement/Rehabilitation Project

Project Description:
This project will consist of improvements and rehabilitation to the wastewater collection system as well as the city’s wastewater treatment facility. This project will rehabilitate/replace the city’s two wet wells and approximately 80 manholes. The city’s wastewater treatment plant will receive improvements that will include replacement of some of its operating equipment as well as installation of new equipment to improve the treatment capabilities of the wastewater treatment plant. In addition, some cosmetic/safety/security issues will be addressed and will include such things as replacing the facility’s fence and installing rip-rap near the creek among other work around the plant.

This project will reduce I&I from the collection system, replace aging equipment in the collection system and improve the overall effectivness and eficiency of the wastewater treatment plant

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:
