Project Title:
Muddy Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant

Project Description:
The first phase of the project will involve construction of a new 0.2MGD wastewater treatment plant near Waco, to regionalize collection and treatment for the area. It also involved redirecting flow from the greens crossing area to the new treatment plant. Approximately 15,927 LF of 6-inch force main was installed and the piping at two existing pump stations were reworked in order to redirect the flow to the new WWTP. (COMPLETED) Residual funds are being used to complete the second phase of the project which entails installing approximately 3,828 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer, 1,250 LF of laterals, and 26 manholes. One new pump station along with 1,565 LF of 4-inch force main will transport the wastewater to the new WWTP. Sewer will extend to and eliminate one existing package treatment plant (KY0101303 Waco Food Mart), one on-site package plant, and up to 23 residential and two other commercial customers (Bank).

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
To help regionlaize the area and eventually eliminate approximately 3 package plants currently operating in the area. Set up are for future connections.

Alternate B:

Continue to pay the City of Richmond rates that would force NMCSD to raise the minimum customer rate by 2014 to $60 (2,200 gallons).  This is a very low income area.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:

Energy efficiency is the use of improved technologies and practices to reduce the energy consumption of water projects, use energy in a more efficient way, and/or produce/utilize renewable energy. Examples include:
