Project Title:
Stanford Sewer Rehabilitation - Phase I

Project Description:
Project proposed is to rehabilitate or replace approximately 15,500 LF of leaking, failing vitrified clay sewer pipe ranging in size from 6" to 12" in diameter to reduce I&I and improve sewer services to approximately 450 customers in the sewer drainage areas affected by the proposed improvements. Also included with the pipe rehabilitation/replacements are rehabilitation and/or replacement of manholes, which are also deteriorated and leaking.

Need For Project: Briefly describe how this project promotes public health or achieves and/or maintains compliance with the Clean Water Act or Safe Drinking Water Act:
The project as proposed will reduce I&I, lessen the potential for Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs), reduce sewer conveyance costs, and reduce flows to be treated at the WWTP. This project will also help ensure reliable sewer service to the sewershed areas in and adjacent to the proposed improvements.

Continue operating the system in its current condition of deterioration, make repairs only when absolutely necessary, and accept the I&I and diminished level of sewer service and reliability that currently exists.

Repair and/or replace the identified, prioritized sewer facilities to reduce I&I and potential SSOs, and to ensure reliable sewer services to the customers in the proposed project areas, while also reducing the costs of conveyance and treatment of sewage originating in the project areas.

Green Infrastructure:

Green stormwater infrastructure includes a wide array of practices at multiple scales that manage wet weather and that maintains and restores natural hydrology by infiltrating, evapotranspiring and harvesting and using stormwater. On a regional scale, green infrastructure is the preservation and restoration of natural landscape features, such as forests, floodplains, and wetlands, coupled with policies such as infill and redevelopment that reduce overall imperviousness in a watershed. On the local scale, green infrastructure consists of site and neighborhood-specific practices, such as:

Water Efficiency:

The use of improved technologies and practices to deliver equal or better services with less water. Water efficiency encompasses conservation and reuse efforts, as well as water loss reduction and prevention, to protect water resources for the future. Examples include:

Energy efficiency is the use of improved technologies and practices to reduce the energy consumption of water projects, use energy in a more efficient way, and/or produce/utilize renewable energy. Examples include:
